As part of a multi-skilled engineering team, you will use your front-end React JS expertise to take a key role in the design and build of a new SaaS Single Page App (SPA) using React JS. The SPA will be used by customers to create and manage custom automations and AI ‘helpers’ on our automation platform GoAutomate.
Location
Remote with some "office days" in the South Midlands/M42 corridor.
Essential Skills
2+ years experience of React JS and supporting libraries.
Strong eye for visual design, balance and visual hierarchy.
Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
Knowledge of the newer specifications of EcmaScript.
Knowledge of responsive layouts, particularly FlexBox.
Experience of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, response codes, headers etc.
Familiarity with code management and collaboration tools such as Git.
Experience with NodeJS, npm packages, build tools etc.
Experience of building cross-browser applications and a good knowledge of W3C standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Fluent English. Any other language is a bonus.
Desirable Skills
Experience of Material UI React library.
Experience of drawing/animating objects in HTML Canvas.
Understanding of modern web authentication/authorisation methods such as OAuth.
Knowledge of containerised environments such as Docker.
Understanding of testing and mocking concepts.
Knowledge of cloud hosting environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
About the Job:
With your technical expertise and strong eye for visual design, you will take a key role in the design and build of a new customer-facing SaaS Single Page App (SPA) with features including: a visual designer for editing flowchart-like automation maps; a form designer with layout manager, form fields, tables and customisation of fields including third-party styles; user and user task management; paginated grid views of analytics data with features such as advanced query builders, filters, column customisation; presentation and manipulation of data in spreadsheet-like views, configuration of rules for data pipelines for import and export of data; and graph widgets and visual data representation for dashboarding and reporting.
You will also build up a library of common reusable front-end UI components and libraries to increase the consistency of user experiences.
You will contribute to design whiteboard discussions, particularly around User Experience (UX) designs.
You will understand the technical implications of your design decisions to ensure components achieve good performance on all devices.
You will be confident to work independently, be self-motivated and a team player.
